Participating artists 2024:

In 2023, we opened up the space to artists to create a panel on the chain link fence running the path to Solitude Lake. We also had a limited number of window panels available open for temporary art murals on plywood to be placed on the historic TISCO Office Building.

This year, some fenceline artwork will be changed, more artwork spots on the Office Building have been added, AND artwork will be on display on the big “Shop E” building. This addition will greet passersby while they walk through our beautiful town. On September 14th, you can witness live muralists painting some of the new pieces to go on display.

A big Thank You to our Artists for believing in this project.

Come see what’s been added!

  • Mia Baldwin - Wild High Bridge

Moving to High Bridge was unexpected for me, but I immediately fell in love with its wild spaces. High Bridge open spaces feed my insatiable need to connect with nature as well as my passion for using my hands. The Monarch Butterfly’s presence in High Bridge has provided the opportunity to create wildlife habitat and now the opportunity to create art. My GFA piece honoring the iconic Monarch Butterfly will hopefully provide a moment of peace and happiness to all viewers, just as Monarch butterflies have provided my forever racing mind many moments of peace and harmony.

  • Sue Haake

Susan Haake graduated from Washington University School of Fine Arts many years ago majoring in painting and graphic design and then spent 20 years as an Art Director in various ad agencies in NY and NJ. But in 2009, she got out of the dog eat dog world and moved into the sunny world of horticulture. Starting as a Master Gardener she completed over 2,500 hours of service and then combined her love for art, design and plants by studying landscape design. Her painting for the Grounds for Art Fence-line shows 6 Native plants from NJ and under the flap is the butterfly that relies on that plant for nectar and food for its caterpillar.

  • Adam Hayes

My artistic practice consists of the distillation of various source material that I find compelling. Working cross-media, I make art in an instinctual fashion. I like to bring an element of play into my practice and make artistic decisions based on gut feelings. I follow these intuitions from one source material to another. Working from images that I find or that have occurred to me in a dream, I pull elements from my sources that are compelling to me and re-produce them stripped down and layered with elements of other sources or mark making. Over the course of the last 17 years, I have been working on different bodies of work that involve the investigation of images that I find to be powerful, mysterious, mythic, or haunting. Looking for a language of significance in images of palaces, cathedrals, portraiture, and fashion imagery. Some of the shapes and elements from previous bodies of work often get carried over in new pieces.

  • Amanda Henriksen

The Carpenter's Lady is a local business rooted in Lebanon Township, NJ, with a unique journey. My diverse creative background, from knitting to painting, expanded when I met my carpenter husband, igniting a passion for woodworking. I craft captivating pieces using recycled materials with a scroll saw, which demands precision and care. My artistic techniques include fretworking, carefully removing wood for negative space images, and segmentation, assembling cut wood for intricate designs. Despite the challenges of working with temperamental wood, the process is therapeutic and allows complete focus. Nature and animals inspire most of my work, reflecting my deep admiration for their beauty.

  • Gail Wingler

I have been painting and taking photographs now for four years. I started out just playing around with acrylics and various surfaces that I could find. I would paint plates, cups, vases, picture frames, you name it, I painted it. It was fun and it was a way of spending time alone using colors as my thoughts.

Then I purchased my first canvas, I was sold on this new world I had created for myself. I can't even explain how I felt when I placed colors on the canvas! It just came to life, and it was mine. I am the type of person who tries to explain everything, but I realized there is no need for an explanation of my art! It explained itself, if you are willing to listen.

I present my art to you........... Just listen! Gail B Wingler

  • Ava and Liz

Ava and Liz are a student/teacher duo who are putting their creative talents in collaboration for the High Bridge Wall Installation. Ava and Liz have worked side by side since 2021 when Ava entered Morristown High School as a freshman. As time has moved on, Ava has become a talented artist that inspires Liz just as much as Liz has inspired her. This dynamic duo has created an installation that combines both of their love of nature and also playing with various glaze combinations.

Liz Ostendorp of Ellie Lou Ceramics, graduated with a Bachelor's of Creative Art and Technology from Bloomfield College in 2003 and then immediately began working as an Art Teacher for the Morris School District. She presently teaches Ceramics at Morristown High School while running her own pottery business outside of school hours. Liz creates and sells collections for local shops around North Jersey as well as the Morris Museum, but her main focus surrounds emulating the beauty in nature that we often overlook. As a green witch, Liz tries to incorporate as much of her practice into the work as possible with the goal of sharing her light with others through creating collections that can be used in spiritual practices and rituals, including mugs, ritual bowls, vases, cleansing bundle plates, and incense/palo santo burners.

Ava Osiecki is going into her Junior year of high school, second year as a ceramics TA. Between school and work, she squeezes in every second she can to work on ceramics. Ceramics is quite literally her passion. Her favorite things to work on would be little fairy houses, the more detail the better! She finds inspiration throughout her day to day life- romanticizing the little things. Like turning a simple strawberry into a home for a fairy. Everything is hand-built and is made with love and passion. Ava sells her ceramics work whenever she gets the chance, she loves meeting new people. Ava tries to make ceramic pieces that are one of a kind, every house is different. Customizing and making sure every house has a story is a key part of her process.
